Palak declared Zero Tolerance against online gambling and porn sites
575 betting sites are active in the country on social media Facebook and communication app Telegram. More than 51 lakh people are connected to these gambling sites. Some government websites are also included in the list. There are also 1624 porn websites active online like gambling. About 32 lakh people are involved in them. From 193 escort service pages and accounts like Nastamey or Pile video service to provide prostitutes in elite areas of the capital.
Director General of National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC) Major General Ziaul Ahsan informed the data in the seminar held at the conference room of Directorate of Telecommunication (DOT) in Tejgaon on Thursday. He said, we can close these sites if we want. If those who are involved in these businesses think that the members of the law enforcement agencies or the CID will not be able to catch them. This is their misconception. But, at least, some criminals need to be punished. So those who are involved with these acts must be arrested. So, we hereby warn ‘the stars’ who are associated with betting site promotions.
After listening to this information, the chief guest present at the seminar, Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak announced zero tolerance on online gambling and porn sites. He said, I request BTRC, DOT and NTMC to stop these websites and mobile apps using the technology we have.

Kamruzzaman, AMTOB Secretary General Mohammad Zulfikar, Teletalk Managing Director AKM Habibur Rahman, Robi Company Secretary Mohammad Shahedul Alam, Banglalink Head of Corporate Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman and others were present on the occasion.
